Louisville United Methodist Church Outreach

Our church is very active in both our community of Louisville, Colorado, and in the community worldwide.
From food baskets, donations to local charities, and traveling to help others in need, LUMC reaches out to others.
Louisville Community Food Bank
The Louisville Community Food Bank is an outreach ministry of the Louisville United Methodist Church. Our food bank has been in operation for over 30 years serving eastern Boulder County, including the communities of Louisville, Lafayette and Superior.
The food bank is supported by various organizations in the surrounding area. We are the local TEFAP and Elder Share location. We provide food deliveries to nearly 300 families each quarter (deliveries are usually in March, June, September and December). We also provide emergency food baskets upon request.
Other Outreach Activities:
We support the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) in their various efforts locally and throughout the world. In the past, we have assembled health kits for various relief organizations and sent teams to both Louisiana and Mississippi to help in hurricane relief.
For more information on UMCOR, go to umcor.org.
Our Mission Committee has been involved in many terrific projects, such as collecting "Coins for Christ." Coins collected (plus other donations) are donated to various organizations throughout the year (for example, Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, during the holidays to buy batteries for the donated Toys for Tots program and the Holly Methodist Church to help in rebuilding).
The Youth have been involved in many helping projects, including serving Thanksgiving dinner at the Denver Rescue Mission and mission trips to South Dakota and Southwestern Colorado. This year they plan to travel to Tijuana to build homes.
We have joined with the Rocky Mountain Russia Initiative to help support an orphanage, maternity hospital and house church in Luga, Russia.
